Central Peoria neighborhoods run roughly north of McClure Avenue or Forest Hill Avenue and south of Glen Avenue, from about University Street east nearly to Prospect Road, with Knoxville Avenue running through the middle. It's close to downtown, the riverfront and the developing Warehouse District.

It's also a practical part of the city for everyday life, with plenty of amenities close by, including Kroger, Hy-Vee, Schnucks, Aldi and Walmart grocery stores.

Central Peoria homes

Most homes here were built from the late 1920s through the 1950s. Many are brick, and siding is more common on the later homes. Upkeep varies a lot from one house to the next, so two homes on the same block can be very different buys.
