- South of Peoria, on the other side of the Illinois River. One of the larger towns in the area, almost a smaller Peoria of its own, with smaller communities around it. Pekin Insurance is one of the major employers.

- Mineral Springs Park, about 200 acres with a lagoon, paddle boats, trails, playgrounds and a pavilion built in 1905, hosts the Pekin Marigold Festival every September after Labor Day. Golf is a big part of Pekin, with Parkview Golf Course, Lick Creek Golf Course and a country club.
