East Peoria neighborhoods climb the bluffs directly across the Illinois River from downtown Peoria. It's Peoria's sister city, connected by the Murray Baker and Centennial bridges, and I-74 runs right through town, east toward Bloomington-Normal and west toward the Quad Cities.
It's a bluff town, with hills, not much flat land and some beautiful vistas. The best known is Fondulac Drive, which has several lookout points back across the river. At night, the Peoria skyline, St. Mary's Cathedral, the hospitals and the lit-up bridge make it one of the prettiest views anywhere in the area.
